An empirical model of the impact of solar flares of various classes on the state and dynamics of the lower ionosphere

As a result of the project, an empirical model of the impact of solar flares of various power on the state and dynamics of the lower ionosphere will be obtained. Based on the measurements carried out at the Mikhnevo Geophysical Observatory, a data bank of amplitude-phase characteristics of VLF signals from stations for the period from 2014 to 2021 will be created on the server of the IDG RAS, which will be available for open use for scientific purposes. The experimental data obtained as a result of the project can be used to develop, correct and verify theoretical computational models of the lower ionosphere. New methods for analyzing the state and dynamics of the lower ionosphere in various heliogeophysical conditions will be developed. The scientific significance of the expected results lies in the possibility of using experimental data to forecast the electron density profiles in the lower ionosphere under various heliogeophysical conditions. The practical significance of the project implementation lies in obtaining the data necessary for taking technical and organizational measures to ensure the reliable and uninterrupted operation of control, communication and navigation systems using the VLF radio frequency range.
